The Johnson County Sheriff's Office
has provided a Serial Number Registry for the citizens of Johnson
County. Once your information is submitted it will be maintained
in database at the Sheriff's Office. This information will be kept
on file for two years, therefore, you will need to resubmit the
information after that time. If you become the victim of a burglary
or theft the information will be entered into NCIC/TCIC as stolen
once a report is taken from patrol deputy.
Serial numbers can be found on
televisions, stereos, game systems, computers, firearms, kitchen
appliances, camcorders, air conditioners, cell phones, cameras and
numerous other items. Finding one stolen item with a recorded serial
number can sometimes help detectives solve multiple burglaries. It
is important to take photographs of jewelry and other items that do
not have serial numbers. Also use a permanent marker to place your
initials on CD', videos, DVD's and game cartridges for
identification purposes.
Complete the form below and choose
submit to have your property entered
into the Johnson County Sheriff's
Office Serial Number Registry Database. Also remember to tell
your friends and neighbors so they can register their serial numbers
too.
