Patrol Division

Patrol is the "backbone" of the Sheriff's Office and is the department's largest organization.  All deputies in Johnson County begin their police career in the patrol division. Deputies provide initial response to calls for service and are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. They are courteous professionals who are committed to the department's community oriented policing philosophy. These are the officers you see patrolling your neighborhoods and businesses.

Deputies are assigned to specific geographical areas of the county called
"districts" The Johnson County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division is made up of 26 patrol deputies. .The Patrol Division of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department is responsible for the basic law enforcement operations. The responsibilities of this division include enforcing criminal and traffic laws, protecting life and property, the initial investigation of crimes, and maintaining peace and order within Johnson County.
